Monday 9/10
- HW: Formal Essay:
How much equality, liberty, and
self-government existed in the American colonies in the period 1650-1750? Back
up your assessment with as many specific facts and examples as possible.
This is not an opinion piece; it is a formal essay. Choose a
side and support it. You must write a short introduction with a THESIS that
identifies at least TWO main points. The thesis should be the last sentence in
the introduction. Next, write TWO body paragraphs that address the main points.
Include at least one quote (parenthetically cited) to support your information.
End with a brief conclusion that addresses the future impact of your answer.
You can use any of the readings or credible outside sources (NO WIKIPEDIA). All
information (except from my notes) should be properly cited. Works cited page
is needed. No more than 2 pages.
Write vigorously!
